The fifth edition of the innovation fair in Duisburg was a resounding success. The new Live Tech Expo and an interactive AI masterclass proved to be major crowd-pullers.
Duisburg, May 6, 2026 – FUTURE LOGISTICS celebrated its fifth anniversary yesterday, Tuesday, and impressively reaffirmed its position as the leading innovation trade show in the logistics industry. Despite changeable weather, trade visitors, experts, and interested parties flocked to the Museum of German Inland Waterway Transport to discuss the future of logistics and experience the latest technologies firsthand.
New highlights such as the outer tent and masterclass
The two major new features of the anniversary year were particularly well received. The “Live Tech Expo,” held for the first time in the outdoor area, became a major draw. In the spacious marquee, exhibitors presented hardware innovations such as inventory drones and mobile warehouse robotics live and in action. The high level of interest demonstrated the enormous demand for seeing technologies not just on paper, but in real-world applications.
The new, interactive “CooKI” masterclass was also a resounding success. The hands-on workshop, in which participants tested an AI system for quality control on cookies, was fully booked. The format conveyed the potential of artificial intelligence in logistics in an entertaining way and garnered enthusiastic feedback.
Innovations need to be made tangible
“We are overwhelmed by the positive response and the continued enthusiasm,” said Jana Honeftidis, project manager at FUTURE LOGISTICS. “The weather didn’t dampen the mood—quite the opposite. It showed just how dedicated and resilient our community is. The aisles were packed, the conversations were lively, and the energy was fantastic. The success of the Live Tech Expo in particular confirms that we’re on the right track in making innovations even more tangible.”
Presentations by industry leaders such as Ingo Brauckmann (LOXXESS), Amina Strünck (HAVI), Transportation Minister Oliver Krischer, and Lars Nennhaus (duisport) also provided valuable insights and sparked lively discussions. Once again, the museum’s unique atmosphere provided the perfect setting for high-level networking.
Planning for FUTURE LOGISTICS 2027 has already begun.
